Commissioning a work of art is simply hiring an artist to create a specific work of art.
There is a
$ 1,000 Retainer (Starting Fee) necessary for commissioning any new work.
It can be:
The creation of an (Open or Limited) Print Edition.
The creation of a Portrait (either of a person, or of a place).

Comission A New "Limited" or "Open" Print Edition
Example of commissioning a Limited Print Edition. When you admire a work and desire to purchase a print, in most cases you may commission the issuing of a print edition. The new edition requires set up costs to be covered hense the commission fee. For your $ 1,000 you will recieve the first 3 prints in the eddirion.

This particular edition is only 10 and printed on canvas. Normally a new "Limited Edition" would be 200, and printed in archival paper. There are costs involved in a special issue of 10, 25, 50 and so on. Size is also a consideration.
