"Color and geometry are the organizing tools I use. I have never met Joseph Albers. For those who don't know his name. He was a popular artist who worked with color in a similar rectangular format. I did study his methods via Sy Sillman. Aside from the rectangle which is an echo of the shape of the canvas, my work is very different from Albers. My work is about seeing as an organic experience seeking a sequence logic. The feelings evoked by color are powerful energies reaching into the deep mind. My interest is not academic or optical studies. My focus is on a human common response of emotions. Other influences included sand paintings and the God's eye."
